Synopsis：The isolated province of Palawan is made up of a long island of the same name, along with numerous smaller islands that share a similar culture and biodiversity. The largely undeveloped terrain has made it a favored attraction for tourists who come to see the sandy beaches, as well as some of the wildlife found here. From a strand of beach on Arena we go underwater, our scuba-equipped camera crew bears witness to the amazing diversity of life in the seas off Palawan. The island is also home to what is thought to be the world's longest underwater river, which is itself home to myriad creatures, including large communities of fruit bat. Back on land, we see the macaques and monitor lizards that are common sights on the island. We also catch a glimpse of the Calauit Game Preserve and Wildlife Sanctuary, an unusual ecological set-aside that is home not just to endangered indigenous species but also to African wildlife that were brought to the preserve decades ago who thrive in the similar environment they find in Palawan.
